After the death of her father and to help her sick mother, young Cuifen (Hu Die) abandons his studies. Encouraged by the modern ideas, she takes a job as a packer in a department store.
At first she is lost and a colleague, a young man Qian Guohua (GONG Jianong), helps her. The two coworkers become friends. Lin (Wang Xianzhai), the leader of Cuifen, sells cosmetics.
